Viggle schedule for Wednesday - 11/20/2013
Before you scroll down to the schedule, please read these details about New Viggle and New ViggleBoy to understand the app changes and schedule lay out to accommodate the new Viggle bonus points and check in system.
New Viggle:
iOS devices: Un-install the app. Go to App store and re-install it. Go to App store and search for it again. See if there is an Update option when you search it. If yes, update the app. Start it and it should work. It took Vigglers a couple of tries at times to make it work.
Android: Update the app from play store. Go to Settings --> Applications --> Viggle. Delete Cache. Then start the app and it should work fine.
The new Viggle doesn't reward bonus points for min 10 mins of check in. In fact it rewards bonus points as a multiplier of check in time (2x, 3x, 4x, etc). I like this model of rewarding points, because this way, you don't have to check into each show everyday. Just check into the highest paying show and you are done for that hour or so. So its less work for probably more points.
How more points? You can record other shows that were playing along with highest points show and check into them later or the next day and earn bonus points for them as well. So its actually more points for less check ins during prime time and also more rewards for the extra effort of recording and playing shows later.
From now on, I will mention the shows that need to be checked into, and also the shows that can be recorded and checked into later for more points. Today is the first trial for such schedule. Please provide feedback and comments if you like it, is it easy to understand and if you expect any changes.

Yes. If the audio check-in fails three times in a row, you can search for the show you're watching and check in manually. However, manual check-in will only work for shows that are currently airing. If you are watching a show online or one that has been recorded, you will not be able to search for and manually check-in to that show.
Additionally, you can only manually check into shows that run 60 minutes or less, with the exception of sporting events or other special events. If a program airing is longer than 60 minutes, you will not find it when you search for the show. You will also not be able to search for the channel if the program airing on it is longer than 60 minutes.
In order to be eligible for any check-in bonus points, you have to check into the program using audio verification. Manual check-ins are not eligible for bonus points.

Per Viggle's FAQ, you still have to check into a show by 8AM the next morning to get the bonus points. And you have to check in by audio to get the bonus points, which means DVR or re-airing. You could also record some audio from the episode and play it back to check in. Either way, you're staying up pretty late (on the East Coast) or getting up pretty early (for us night people ;>) to get all possible check-in bonuses. That said, I think you only need one or two extra shows to exceed the bonus points you'd get in the old system (I'm assuming 2x = +50 and 4x = +100).

ReplyDelete60 is what you got by 1x points. 1x means just 1 point per minute and 2x means 2 points per minute. and so on...
DeleteSo I watched 45 minutes of Ellen and only received 45 points. No extra. This new point system actually gives us less points. For example, say you check into a show that as a 3x point value for 20 minutes. You should receive 60 points under the new Viggle. However, with the old one if you checked into that same show that was worth 50 points for 20 minutes you'd receive 70 points. Less points now and for what? Viggle merchandise and sweepstakes entries? No thanks.
ReplyDeleteI did check into Ellen today but didnt get the bonus points? But it was a manual check in, so Im thinking that is why no bonus points. Anybody else having same problem? Not sure about this new viggle but Ill give it some time. Up to 216000 in 2 months :)

I'm only getting minutes I watched with no bonus. I watched Ellen for 53 minutes and only got 53points :(

ReplyDeletewell, so far I have tried to check into 2 shows. each time it tells me confirm & watch ad. after the ad it returns me to the screen that tells me to confirm & watch ad. consequently, being stuck in the loop, it never really checked me into the show. Zer0 points. NOT happy.

ReplyDeleteDoesnt appear that checking into shows the next day works either. Recorded Revolution and tried checking in at 1am eastern and after nine tries it could not figure out what show I was watching. Also got no 4x bonus Points for Restaurant Impossible. I know this is the first day but this new system is junk. If they don't get the bugs out, Im done with Viggle. I would message them about the lack of points but they are probably swamped with messages right now. BRING BACK OLD VIGGLE!
